Barbara Jean Jacobsen

Barbara Jean (Barnes) Jacobsen, age 74, of Council Bluffs, passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2026. She was born December 13, 1951, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to the late Harold and Ruth (Langstrom) Barnes.

Barbara was a longtime Real Estate Broker and Co-Owner of Cedar Crest Landscaping, Inc. and was also in Property Management for nine years. Barbara was a longtime member of Gethsemane Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Barnes and sister, Mary Morse.

She is survived by her husband, Chris Jacobsen; children, Chris Lewis, Matthew (Maria) Jacobsen; Shael (Wesley) Bieker, and Raymond (Annie) Jacobsen; 3 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Interment is in Walnut Hill Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
