Bernard Leo McNary

Bernard ("Bernie") L. McNary, age 76, passed away on November 5, 2026. He was born April 13, 1950, to the late Clement and Lucille (Bradle) McNary in Saint Paul, MN and spent his childhood in the twin cities with family.

After moving to Omaha in his teens, Bernie graduated from Rummel High School in 1968, then he later graduated from Creighton with a Bachelor's in 1972 and in 1975 with a law degree. After serving as Boone County Attorney in Albion, NE he moved back and raised his son and daughter.

Bernie did daily crosswords, loved music and movies, and enjoyed being Papa to his granddaughters more than anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bernie is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mickayla & Darick Rotert; son, Keith Mace-McNary; siblings, Kenneth McNary, George McNary (Kay), and LuAnn Vecchio (Joseph); grandchildren, Roxanna Szczepanowski, Gracen Rotert, and Macey Rotert; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 10, 2026. Inurnment will be in the Keg Creek Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
