Beverly A. Hurley

1941 — 2025

Beverly A. Hurley, age 84, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, at Praha Village in New Prague, MN, after a long battle with dementia. Beverly was born in DuBois, NE, to John and Alice Jancik. Her family eventually moved to Council Bluffs, IA, where she met her future husband, Gary. The two were married in 1961 and shared a loving marriage and friendship for 64 years.

Throughout their life together, Beverly and Gary lived in several states, moving back to Council Bluffs in 1976. Beverly was an active member of the Red Hat Ladies Club, Beta Sigma Phi Social Sorority, and a dedicated participant in her church community. Upon retiring, they moved to Spirit Lake, IA, where they shared a love for the lakes and began their travels. They explored the world together, journeyed across the United States in their RV, and spent their winters in Arizona.

Beverly will be remembered for her kindness, sweetness, and remarkable courage. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caregiver, she touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit and steady devotion. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Gary; daughter, Lori (Chuck) Birkland of Spirit Lake, IA; daughter, Julie (Kevin) Rens of New Prague, MN; son, Steve (Michelle) Hurley of Waconia, MN; and sister, Marilyn (Carroll) Cohrs of Council Bluffs, IA.
