Beverly Lauver

May 24, 1932 — March 5, 2024

Beverly Lauver, known to all as Joy, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024, with family by her side. She was known as wife, mother, sister, aunt and a friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her soulmate and husband Marvin of 65 years; a son, Michael; parents; brothers; and sisters.

She is survived by son, Steven (Kristi); daughter, Lori Krueger (Jon); grandchildren, Aimee Fowler (Rick), Kelli Krueger, Shannon Farmer (Wes), Mindi Skokan (John), Jason Lauver (Mandy), Amanda Robb (Adam); and Niki Mahoney. She was blessed with twelve great-grandchildren, Ashley Miller (Ben), Drew Fowler (Shelby), Mikayla Farmer, Chayse Packebush, Ava Packebush, Carly Farmer, Sydney Skokan, Brekken Packebush, Aryia Robb and Coleson Skokan, Parker Lauver and one baby boy on the way. Joy's shining star was becoming a great-great-grandmother to Everson and Bennie Miller. She was also survived by one sister-in-law, Bonnie Waters; along with many nieces and nephews.

Joy was born in Omaha, the youngest of eight children. After marrying Marvin, they lived in Council Bluffs for many years raising their children. In 1983, they purchased their first lake retreat in Okoboji. In 1987, they moved to a cabin on the lake and slowly remodeled the cabin to become a home for family and friends to gather. Joy and Marvin's door was always open to friends and family to come and enjoy lake life. Many people have treasured memories of the years they lived on East Lake in the Okoboji area.

Joy moved from Okoboji to Council Bluffs in 2013 and lived at The Rose Assisted Living. In 2019, Joy moved back to Okoboji to live. In 2023, Joy decided to jump into the unknown move to Roach, Missouri to live with her daughter and son-in-law. This is where she spent the last year of her life listening to music and completing seek-a word books. She also enjoyed going for car rides and seeing the beautiful areas of the Ozarks.

Joy enjoyed camping, reading, crafts and sewing. Her greatest enjoyment though was spending time with family.
