Billy "Bill" Robert Klaudt, 80, of rural Neola, Iowa, passed away on June 28, 2026. He was born on April 7, 1946, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Christian and Bertha (Wallender) Klaudt.
Bill graduated from Central High School in Omaha before proudly serving his country in the United States Coast Guard. Following his military service, he returned to Omaha and joined the family business, Klaudt Machine Company. Through years of hard work and dedication, he eventually took over the business, leading it until his retirement in 1999. Never one to sit still, Bill began a second career as a school bus driver for Underwood Community Schools, where he safely transported generations of students for 17 years before retiring again in 2016.
A faithful man, Bill was a longtime member of Southview Bible Church. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet dedication to his family, and the kindness he shared with those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Bertha Klaudt, and his brothers, James Klaudt and Milton Klaudt.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 53 years, Phyllis (Gibbs) Klaudt; daughters, Leah (Jason) Shannon, Sarah (Cody) Cryer, and Rebecca (Tim) Green; grandchildren, Marilla Shannon, Aurora Shannon, and Clayton Green; brothers, Max (Karen) Klaudt and Kenneth (Carolyn) Klaudt; sister, Katherine Hammer (Ken Eaton); along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Southview Bible Church, 135 Bennett Avenue, Council Bluffs, Iowa. The family will direct memorials.
