Carol Maxine Pruett December 23, 1934 - September 20, 2025

Carol Maxine Pruett, age 90, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Carol was born to Dwight Miller and Minnie Roach Miller on December 23, 1934, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Carol married the love of her life, Samuel Pruett, on March 31, 1955, and together they built a life marked by dedication, generosity and hard work. She served as a bookkeeper for Sam's tree service business, bringing order and care to every detail. In her later years, she shared her hospitality and skills as a cook for Iowa School for the Deaf where she touched many lives with her kindness.

Carol loved her family dearly and cherished being a grandmother always anticipating each visit with joy and warmth. One of our fondest memories is Mom seated at the table with her Bible, studying scriptures with thoughtful devotion. She cared deeply for her faith as a long-time member of the Church of God for more than 50 years.

Because two people fell in love ~ Sam and Carol had eight children, Samuel (Christine) Pruett of Somerset KY, Charles (Tanya) Miller of Council Bluffs, IA, Daniel (Kathy) Pruett of Council Bluffs, IA, Debra (Bob) Bachman of Council Bluffs, IA, Tammy (Ron) Weaver of Council Bluffs, IA, Mark (Deb) Pruett of San Antiono, TX, Catherine (Claude) Maddox of Delhi, LA, Pamela (Greg) Horihan of Council Bluffs, IA. Kimberly Leggett-Tamayo of Council Bluffs, IA, plus 29 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Carol is proceeded in death by her beloved husband Samuel Amos Pruett, sons Charles Miller, Daniel Pruett, son-in-law Gary Jones and daughter-in-law Christine Pruett. Parents Dwight & Minnie Miller, Sisters Shirley Lair, Lola Mallory, Brother Dwight Miller, Jr,

The family would like to thank the staff of AseraCare Hospice for the wonderful care that Carol received over these last few months. The kindness and compassion towards her were always evident and appreciated.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home ~ 1211 N 16th Street, Council Bluffs, IA 51501 on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM at New Life Fellowship ~ 1211 N 24th Street, Council Bluffs, IA 51501 on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery ~ 308 Lafayette Avenue, Council Bluffs.

The family will direct memorials in Carol's honor.
