Charles E. "Chuck" Thompson

Charles E. "Chuck" Thompson, age 83, passed away peacefully at Midlands Living Center October 20, 2026.

He was born March 14, 1943, to the late Levi and Margaret (Munchrath) Thompson in Council Bluffs, IA. Chuck graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 61 and retired from Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of Saint Peter's Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Thompson; brothers, Richard "Dick" Thompson (Gretchen), Raymond Thompson.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sharry Thompson; sons and daughters-in-law, Troy & Amy Thompson, and Todd & Jennifer Thompson; siblings, Mary Lybarger (Joe), and John Thompson (Theresa); grandchildren, Ashley Quick (Ryan), Claire Hoeft, Conner Thompson, Colby Thompson, Wyatt Thompson, and Samuel Thompson; great grandchildren, Maria, Noah, Vivian, Ezra, Alaina, Kolbe; nieces, nephews, and cousins; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM with a Vigil Service to begin at 5:30 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Mass of Resurrection will be at 9:00 AM at Saint Peter's Catholic Church on Monday, October 26, 2026. Inurnment will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery. The family will direct memorials in Chuck's honor.
