Cheryl Ann Haines

Cheryl Ann Haines, age 74, passed away at CHI Health Mercy Hospital on April 15, 2026.

She was born July 3, 1951 to the late Floyd and Evelyn (Elswick) Haines in Council Bluffs, IA. Cheryl graduated from Carson-Macedonia High School with the class of 1969 and later from Iowa Western Community College. Cheryl was an accompanist for the Council Bluffs Community School District. She was an important part of the music program at New Horizon Presbyterian Church. Cheryl was a private piano instructor for over 60 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Marjorie Stueve, Darlene Bogstad, and Duane Haines.

Cheryl is survived by her children, Jeff Meyer, Lisa Wilber (Matt), and Chris Meyer (Leslie Hunter); sister, Lois Bertch; grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM at New Horizon Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Saint Paul Music Conservatory or New Horizon Presbyterian Church.
