Christine Christensen

Christine M. "Chris" Christensen, age 62, passed away at CHI Health Mercy Hospital on June 30, 2024.

She was born August 7, 1961, to Donald and Cynthia (Konecny) Feller in Council Bluffs, IA. The family lived on an acreage just outside of town and there her love of animals, especially horses, grew.

Chris attended Abraham Lincoln High School and graduated in 1979. She participated in gymnastics and cheerleading. During high school she met the love of her life Edward "Ed" Christensen and they were married for 42 wonderful years.

Ed and Chris originally settled in Council Bluffs and had a daughter Rae Ann. After finding an acreage of their own they moved to the Crescent/Honey Creek area to make their home.

Throughout her life Chris was active in the outdoors, which included teaching Iowa Hunter's Education for many years and running a local chapter of Ducks Unlimited.

Chris worked her way up in banking at various banks in Council Bluffs and Omaha, most recently landing in Finance at PayPal.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Feller; mother-in-law, Clarice Christensen.

Chris is survived by her husband, Ed; daughter and son-in-law, Rae (Matthew) Allen; granddaughter, Rylee Allen; mother, Cindy Feekin (Bill); siblings, Dan Feller (Kathy) and Cathy Wright (Dennis); step-siblings, Pam Pick (Keith), Bill Feekin (Sandy), Tricia Feekin (Toni Hooten), and Amy Shelly; father-in-law, Ray Christensen; siblings-in-law, Fred Christensen, Ted Christensen (Kim), and Tim Christensen (Anne); pets Libby, Willy and Spurs; as well a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, July 5, 2024. Funeral service will be private. Interment will be in Garner Township Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hooves and Paws Rescue of the Heartland or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
