Cindy Marie Solomon

May 3, 1960 — Aug 17, 2026

Cindy Solomon, age 66, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on August 17, 2026.

Cindy was born on May 3, 1960, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to LaVonne and Otha "Bud" Chapin. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1978 and went on to earn her Associate's Degree from Iowa Western Community College. Cindy spent more than 40 years working at Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska, where she built a long and dedicated career.

On May 4, 1996, Cindy married her love, Willie Solomon. Together, they shared a life filled with family, memories, and simple joys.

Growing up with three brothers, Cindy spent plenty of time playing referee-and it was no secret that she was easily the parent favorite. Her quiet nature, kind heart, and dry sense of humor made her a special presence in her family from the very beginning.

Cindy treasured her family above all else. She was the keeper of birthdays, family stories, and countless memories, thanks in no small part to her incredibly strong memory. She was the person who remembered the details others had forgotten and the one who helped keep generations of family connected. She would have done anything to help someone she loved, never seeking recognition or praise in return.

Cindy was also an avid bowler and spent many years bowling on multiple leagues, forming friendships and enjoying the camaraderie that came with the sport. She loved spending time at the family cabin in Minnesota and especially enjoyed getting out on the fishing boat during those trips. More than anything, though, Cindy was someone who found happiness in the simple things-time with family, familiar traditions, good memories, and being there for the people she loved.

Cindy was a kind and quiet soul who left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her. She did not need to be the center of attention to be deeply loved. Her presence, her loyalty, her memories, and her willingness to always help will be greatly missed.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Otha "Bud" and LaVonne Chapin; her brother, Andy Chapin; her husband, Willie Solomon; and her niece, Gabriella Chapin.

She is survived by her brothers, Billy (Audrey) Chapin and Jeff (Karen) Chapin; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will carry her memory with them.

Cindy's life was one of love, loyalty, family, and quiet kindness. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved her.

A private family service was held.
