Dallas Petersen

Dallas Petersen, age 86, passed away September 6, 2025. He was born December 1, 1938 to Hans and Sofie (Christensen) Petersen in Audubon (Wichita), IA. Grew up north of Adair and lived his life in different parts of western and central Iowa.

Dallas worked north of Adair as a farm hand before going to Griffin Pipe, from there he worked at Byers Transportation and Boss Lines in Omaha. He then worked for Roadway Express for several years before retiring from Teamsters.Through the years Dallas enjoyed trapping, fishing and hunting as well as working on cars and tractors.Preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Sophie Petersen; his children, Darren, Darling & Doreen; brothers, Merle, Melvin, Jack and Don; sisters, Geraldine, Marilyn, Darlene & Alice.

Dallas is survived by his younger sister, Shirley; his son, Darryl (Barb); daughters, Donna (Scott) Saggs and Diana (Jared) Jensen; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. The family will direct memorials.
