Daniel Hawkins

Daniel E. Hawkins, Age 79, passed away on August 18, 2025.

He was born January 26, 1946 to the late Walter J. and Helen A. (Lee) Hawkins in Omaha, NE. Daniel worked for the City of Omaha and proudly served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserves. He was a member of the Carter Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, cooking for and feeding family and friends.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maria-Ruth Hawkins; children, Tonja Porter (Troy), Chris Hawkins, Stephanie Hawkins; grandchildren, AJ Austin, Tim Garber, Ryan Garber, Sierra Garber, and Mia Hawkins; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Interment with Military Honors will be held at 1:30 PM at the Omaha National Cemetery.
