Darlene M Hansen

Darlene Hansen, age 83, passed away at Bethany Lutheran Home December 4, 2021. She was born January 12, 1938 to Earl L. Peterson and Edith (Robbins) Peterson in Lyons, Nebraska. She was a volunteer at the Union Pacific Railroad Museum and Jennie Edmundson. She grew up on a family farm in Lyons, Nebraska and graduated from Lyons High School. Darlene worked many years for Chastain Otis Insurance Agency and retired in 2003. Darlene enjoyed camping, Nebraska football and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Arlis Hansen; brother, Ray Earl Peterson.

Darlene is survived by son Mark (Tori) Hansen; sister, Barbara Willer; sister-in-law, Kristie Peterson; grandchildren, Jakob Hansen, Holly Hansen, Jaydee Hansen; many family and friends.


Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 08, 2021.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, December 9, 2021.

Memorials may be directed to The Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

Interment will be held at Garner Township Cemetery in Council Bluffs, IA.
