Donald Sorensen

Donald G. Sorensen, age 94, passed away peacefully at his home on August 15, 2025.

He was born December 1, 1930, to the late Jens and Nina (Lansman) Sorensen in Exira, IA. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong farmer as well as being involved in other business ventures. He attended Southview Bible Church. Don was a man who was wise, trustworthy, strong, loving and giving. He had much knowledge, understanding and he loved the Lord. Don enjoyed restoring old cars and tractors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Merlin Sorensen; son-in-law, Randy Donahue; sisters-in-law, Ethel Sorensen and Peggy Sorensen.

Donald is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years, Marilyn Sorensen; children, Kathy Donahue, Luanne Tiarks (Bruce); Randy Sorensen (Linda), and Curtis Sorensen (Jan); siblings, Verdon Sorensen (Lee) and Ethan Sorensen; grandchildren, Jamie Justesen (Adam), Justin Tiarks (Brigitte), Lindee Stanek (Kyle), Jordan Tiarks (Danielle), Eric Sorensen, Brittni Hall (Andrew), Alec Sorensen (Aubrey), and Addison Sorensen; 12 great grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Monday, August 18, 2025. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Interment is in the Ridgewood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Southview Bible Church.
