Donna Mae Boehne

Donna Boehne, age 88, passed away in the early hours of October 20, 2026. She was born in Henderson, Iowa to Lorrell and Eva Viner. Donna graduated from Red Oak High School in 1956 and married Duane Boehne that same year. Duane died in 2018. They were married for 62 years. For most of those 62 years they lived in Carter Lake, Iowa.

Donna and Duane raised four children: Linda Larkin (husband Mike), Nancy Martin (husband David), Richard Boehne (wife Rhonda), and Robert Boehne (wife Nicole). They also ran a successful automotive garage together. Later Donna worked at a nursing home taking care of others. It was her nature to care for others before herself. She will be missed.

Donna was loved by her entire family. She has nine grandchildren: Natalie Monroe (husband Robert), Maggie Gibson (husband Kurt) and Matthew Larkin; Adam Martin (wife Brianne) and Andy Martin (wife Ellen); Brianna Wohlers (husband John), Arrow Boehne and Carson Boehne; and Georgia Boehne. She has six great-grandchildren and anticipated the addition of two more babies in November and December.

Donna made friends wherever she went. She will be missed by all those who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM at Timothy Lutheran Church on Monday, October 26, 2026. Interment will be in the Hamburg, Iowa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Timothy Lutheran Church.
