Donna Lee Miller

Sep 4, 1956 — Aug 26, 2026

Donna Lee Miller, age 69, passed away in Council Bluffs on August 26, 2026.

She was born September 4, 1956 to the late Donald Glen and Doris Lillian (VanFleet) Rinehart in Farmington, New Mexico.

Donna married Bill Miller on July 2, 2025. She was a cook for Lewis Central Schools and had recently retired.

Donna found great joy in cooking and baking, especially when it meant bringing family and friends together around her table. She loved hosting family gatherings, where there was always more than enough food-although Donna was forever worried there wouldn't be! She was especially well known for her beautifully arranged plates of Christmas candies, bars, and cookies, which she lovingly shared with family and friends.

Donna was a selfless and giving person who never hesitated to help others. Her home was always open and welcoming to family and friends, even when they arrived unexpectedly. She had a special love for plants and truly had a green thumb. She could never resist bringing a new plant home from a shopping trip-even if it wasn't the prettiest one. Donna saw that as a challenge, and somehow, she always managed to bring it back to life.

She also took great pride in her large garden and loved sharing its bounty with others. Giving to others was simply part of who Donna was.

Above all, Donna was a very proud wife, mother, grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by both parents & her brother, James Rinehart.

Donna is survived by her husband, Bill Miller; siblings, Stephen Rinehart and Kathy Jo Larimore (Mike); son, Rob Murray; daughters, Stacey Firch (Dennis), Amanda McCurdy (Troy), Sherri Jensen and Kaylin Jensen; stepchildren, Christina Foutch (Waylon) and Jacob Miller (Courtney); grandchildren, Brittany Hauf (Jason), Cadee Burnison (Darien), Brianna Loving, Jolyssa Jensen, Shawn Jensen, Shelby McCurdy, Kaycee Murray, Kylee Murray, Brody Foutch, Treyton Foutch, Ledger Miller and Harvey Miller; great-grandchildren, Tyson Hauf, Lilly Hauf and Booker Burnison.

Family and friends will meet at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Monday, August 31st at 2pm for a procession to the Crescent Cemetery for a graveside service.
