Donna Walker

Donna Lou Ehlers Walker, age 95, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024, at Country House Residence surrounded by family and friends. Donna was a loving sister, aunt, friend, and mentor. Donna was active in various philanthropy and business organizations including Optimist International, American Businesswomen, Altrusa International and PEO Chapter LR. She was also a dedicated genealogist, researching and publishing six ancestral lines of her German grandparents. In addition to her family research, she had interests in art, music and history and enjoyed oil painting, playing the piano, gardening, and interior design.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Gertrude Ehlers; her loving husband of 58 years, Thomas Walker; and her brother, Billy Ehlers.

She is survived by her sister in law, Patricia Ehlers; as well as her nieces and nephews, Stuart (Robin) Ehlers, Marc (Michelle) Ehlers, Brad (Karen) Ehlers, Josh (Rosemary) Ehlers, Lew (Debbie) Mazur, Kyle (Carol) Walker, Jennifer (Mark) Terry, Janice (Steve) Caldwell, Ronnie (Brenda) Walker, Connie Novak, Amie (Mike) Tomasek; devoted friends, Maxine (Jim) Marshall; as well as many other friends that she considered family.

Funeral Service is Saturday, July 13, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Visitation is during the hour prior to the service. Interment is in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will direct memorials in Donna's honor.
