Duane W. "Sarge" Schuchard

Duane W. "Sarge" Schuchard, age 89, passed away July 23, 2023.

He was born to the late Walter and Goldie (Ladwig) Schuchard in Milbank, South Dakota, on December 1, 1933. Duane proudly served his country and retired after a full career in the United States Navy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Nicholas Gehrig; siblings, Isabell Dammer and Virgil Schuchard.

Duane is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Schuchard; children, Teresa (Jeromy) Holeton, Debra (Leroy) Schuchard, Frank Gehrig, Rose Marie Madden, Leon Gehrig, Carol (Mike) Surber, Mary Cothan, and Gloria Benninghoff; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Visitation is from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday July 30, 3023, at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 31, 2023, at Lord of Love Lutheran Church - 10405 Fort Street in Omaha. Interment is in the Omaha National Cemetery.
