Edith Baisch, age 92, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, on December 30, 2013. Edith was born in Stuttgart-Feuerbach, Germany on May 11, 1921. She married Peter Plischka in 1946 and together they had a daughter. While in Germany she worked in radio as an announcer and at Bauknecht. In 1959 she fulfilled her dream of immigrating to the United States and became a citizen. Edith worked as a secretary and translator in Omaha, Arizona and Scripps Clinic in California. She was adventuresome and had a passion for music. She loved to laugh, sing, dance and travel. Edith played the accordion and piano in a 30 member band in Germany for many years. Her greatest treasures were her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loyal friend. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Baisch and Anna (Heer) May; uncle, Josef Heer; granddaughter, Carol Meston. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and David Smith; grandson, Dale Moser (Laura); great grandchildren, Caleb, Cody, Brandon, Gillian, Samantha and Austin; special friends, Barbara Grandt, Cheryl Moser and Melissa Katzenstein. Private services will be held on Monday January 6, 2013.
