Eldon Hensley

Eldon Hensley, of Council Bluffs, passed away peacefully July 14, 2023 at Midlands Living Center. He was born October 27, 1935 to Ralph and Helen (Henning) Hensley in Taylor County, Iowa.  He grew up in Bedford, Iowa and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Eldon married Linda (Strong) Glassgow on September 27, 1985. He operated a gas station, then drove a semi-truck for many years. He enjoyed fishing, classic cars, and watching NASCAR and westerns. Eldon loved to tell jokes and had a great sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Billy; granddaughter, Tiffany Craig; brothers, Don, Jim, and Dean; and sisters, Bonnie and Phyllis.

Eldon is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Kathy (Bruce) Craig, Laurie Bergey, and Michelle Glassgow; granddaughter, Katie Craig; great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hensley; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Celebration of Life gathering will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. The family will direct memorials.
