Rev. Mr. Elpides Stephen Rallis, DDS. age 91, passed away at Northcrest Living Center on March 18, 2026.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline and son Michael Kraig.

He was born November 5, 1934, to the late Stephen and Margery (Adamson) Rallis in Green River, Wyoming. He and his sister Elaine were raised in Green River. After graduating high school he attended Creighton University as an advanced freshman to study dentistry. While attending Creighton, he joined the Navy ROTC program and enlisted in the US Navy. E. Stephen proudly served his country from 1958-1966. During some of those years he was a dental officer on the helicopter carrier USS Princeton in Vietnam.

It is while attending Creighton that E. Stephen met the woman of his dreams, Jacquline Jo Burton. They were married in Shenandoah, Iowa and the two of them created a beautiful life and parented three amazing sons, Vincent, Kraig, and Kristopher.

His dental career took him to many cities, such as; San Diego, California, Belmond, Iowa, Hamburg, Iowa and Council Bluffs, Iowa. where his practice impacted many people, He and Jacquie made many life long friends during those times.

However, E. Stephen knew that he was being called to a higher vocation. That is when he and Jacquie accepted the call to pursue the life of a deacon in the Catholic Church. He was ordained in the Des Moines Diocese in 1993. He served the St. Peter's Parish in Council Bluffs. He and Jacquie did many ministries for the church. He had the honor and privilege of baptizing all of his grandsons. He also married and performed burial services for many family members.

After retiring from his dental career, he became a hospice chaplain with St. Joseph Villa in Omaha where he touched and comforted many families during their difficult times.

E.Stephen cherished his family and loved spending time with all of them. The times and conversations he had with his grandsons were most special to him. He was an avid reader. He loved following and supporting the Creighton basketball team. You would often hear him telling "dad jokes" whenever he could. He enjoyed telling stories about his childhood and time in the service. One of his favorite stories and lifetime memory to tell was when he and his best friend Joe McLaughlin rode a tandem bike with no gears from Webster City, Iowa to Dallas, Texas in the summer of 1964, with the Iowa Jaycees.

He enjoyed spending time and staying in touch with his Deacon friends. He would often attend the Creighton Dental class reunions as well.

However you referred to him; Dad, Grandpa, Paka, El, Elzie, E.S., E. Stephen, Stephen, Dr. Rallis, Doc, or Deacon, one reference stood firm, a man with a golden heart.

E. Stephen is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Vinny and Ellen Rallis, Kris and Amy Rallis; sister, Elaine Fogg; grandsons, Chance Rallis, Nick Rallis (Briana), Blake Rallis and Sam Rallis; a host of other family and friends.
