Emma F. Steffen

Emma F. Steffen, age 96, of Council Bluffs passed away August 18, 2014. She was born in Council Bluffs on January 29, 1918 to the late Stanley & Ruth (Darnell) Herald. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Ray Steffen; sister, Lorraine Bockert; brother, Robert Herald; granddaughter, Wendy (Steffen) Decker. Emma is survived by her sons, Frederick Steffen (Shirley) and Ernie Steffen; sisters, Jacqueline Clark, Roberta Clark and Joyce Herald; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation is Saturday from 12:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Interment is in the Memorial Park Cemetery followed by a luncheon in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Southwest Iowa.
