Floyd Minor, age 77, passed away May 26, 2025. He was born June 11, 1947 in Council Bluffs, IA to the late Clem Minor Sr. and Thelma Keating. Floyd was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, Class of 1965. He went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Coast Guard for four years.
In 1975, Floyd founded Floyd's Portable Welding, where he combined craftsmanship with entrepreneurial spirit. For five decades, he earned a reputation as a skilled welder and dependable business owner.
Beyond his work, Floyd had a passion for restoring classic cars - especially his beloved 1947 Ford Coupe. He found joy under the hood, often with a wrench in hand and a story to tell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Minor; and his brothers, Phil Minor and Clem Minor Jr.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Betty Minor; son, John Minor; daughter, Melissa Jackson; grandchildren, Jacob Jackson and Abbie Jackson.
