Galen Brandon

Galen L. Brandon was born on June 6, 1942, in rural Mills County, Iowa, to the late Willie Emanuel and Hazel Irene (McDowell) Brandon. Galen attended school in Glenwood and Council Bluffs.

Galen worked in the trucking industry for over 30 years and was a proud Teamster. He also worked and helped at Frost Farms. Galen enjoyed traveling in his retirement.

In addition to his parents, Galen was preceded in death by his step-mother, Myrtle Hayes Brandon; siblings, William Brandon (Kathryn), Donald Brandon (Martha), Dale Dewayne Brandon (Carolyn & Ramona), Margaret Frost (Gary), Jeanette Choplick (Olider "Chops"), Patricia Goerig (James), and Sharon Cordell.

Galen was married to and is survived by Opal Andrews on June 25, 1959 and enjoyed 66 years together. They were blessed with four children; Daniel Brandon (Jennifer), Cindy Brammer (John Hunt), Becky Jackson, and Mark Brandon (Ronda); grandchildren, Michael Brammer (Kathryn Marshall), Steven Brammer (Ashley), Joesph Brammer (Marcia), Jesse Brammer (Jennifer), and Melissa Stone; great grandchildren, Lillian, Charlotte, Hunter, Haylie, Zayne, Emily, Shelby, Kaylynn, and Logan; in-laws, Jackie Cordell (Theresa), Ronald Nixon, Darrell Andrews (Debbie), and Barbara Kissell; nieces, nephews, and cousins; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, November 07, 2025. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, November 7, 2025. The family will direct memorials.
