Garrett John Uhrlaub, age 17, passed away on March 2, 2026.
He was born August 10, 2008, to Mike and Shawna (Carman) Uhrlaub in Omaha, NE.
Garrett was raised in Underwood, IA and attended the Underwood Community Schools through the 9th grade. Garrett worked at Hy Vee on Madison Avenue as a cashier/courtesy clerk and at Flex Physical Therapy as a physical therapy technician. Growing up in Underwood, Garrett enjoyed soccer, flag football, baseball and shooting trap. As he got older, his interest shifted from sports into gaming and outdoor activities.

His taste in music was eclectic and ranged from The Ramones, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Radiohead, Metallica, Christopher Cross, The Hollies and Steely Dan. Garrett was considered an “old soul” by those who knew him. He was very concerned about those who were less fortunate. Garrett will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
