Herbert Frank Schewe

Herbert F. Schewe, age 91, of Carter Lake, Iowa passed away July 21, 2014. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 7, 1923 to the late Frank & Myrtle (Jacobsen) Schewe. After high school he proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for many years as a carpenter and was a charter member of Carter Lake Fire and Rescue. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Schewe; son, Frank Schewe. Herb is survived by his daughter, Linda Richards; grandchildren, Lori Hanson (Chad), Lesa Schewe (Ron Cumberledge), Lonnie Richards, Stacy Kuti; brothers, Earnest Schewe (Jackie) and Alvin Schewe; daughter-in-law, Vicky Schewe; 6 great grandchildren, Christopher, Connor, Courtney, Cory, Emily and Gunner; nieces and nephews. Visitation is Wednesday 6-8PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Thursday 11AM at the funeral home followed by a reception in the community room at Hoy- Kilnoski. Burial will be later that afternoon in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Carter Lake Fire and Rescue.
