Howard Johnson

Howard Dale Johnson Age 82 of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away March 20, 2025 in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was born May 8, 1942 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Willard and Regina (Graves) Johnson. Howard graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1960. He married Sally Van Scoy on August 17, 1962 in Council Bluffs. Howard is a veteran of the US Army. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1997 after 37 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, bowling, shooting pool and spending time with his friends and family especially his grandchildren.

Howard was preceded in death by parents; brother-in-law, Allan Bentz and sister-in-law, Susan Johnson.

He will be fondly remembered by his wife, Sally, children, Jim Johnson (Amy), Christopher Johnson and Jodi Russo (Jay); grandchildren, Lilian Johnson, Cora Johnson and Leah Russo; sister, Carole Bentz; brother, Charles Johnson and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, May 16, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home, 1221 N. 16th St. Council Bluffs, IA

In Lieu of flowers the memorials may be directed to the family.
