Irene May Thornton

Irene Thornton, age 89, passed away June 29, 2026. She was born July 6, 1936 to Cecil and Elsie (Huss) Thornton in Conway, IA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Jeannie L. Brancs, Vickie Petersen; brother, Manford Thornton.

Irene is survived by her children, Larry John Petersen, Jerry Perersen, Terry (Cheryl) Petersen, Tayva Hart (Tami Petersen); 17 grandchildren, Joe, Samantha,Kathy, Carrie, Chrissy, Ericka, Kevin, Christopher, Tianna, Eli, Mya, Jacob, Joshua, Thersa, Leah; 32 great grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, friends and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, July 02, 2026.

Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, July 2, 2026. Final Resting Place in Conway Cemetery, Conway, IA following the funeral service. The family will direct memorials.
