James Edward White

James Edward White, 76, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 21, 2026 at home.

Born on September 29, 1949 in Morenci, Arizona to John White and Gladys Richardson. James grew up in the Tucson Arizona area and later joined the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. James graduated from University of Arizona with a BS in Pharmacy and worked in hospital pharmacy. In his 50's James graduated from Creighton Law school and specialized in malpractice and bankruptcy law.

James was known for his dedication to family. He loved reading, cooking, sudoku, British comedy and detective shows, and learning about Jewish history and culture.

James is survived by wife Alison Elizabeth (Taylor) White; children, Courtney White Kennedy (Josh), Rachel White Higginbotham (Garret), Patrick White; 5 grandchildren; siblings, John, Mary and Sally. He was preceded in death by Scott White (son).

He was a good Christian man with strong faith in God.
