Janet Maxine Stork

Janet M. "Maxine" Stork, age 92, passed away peacefully at Northcrest Living Center on April 4, 2026.

She was born June 27, 1933, to the late Curtis and Waunita (Smiley) Lewis in Saint Paul, NE. Maxine graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1951. She had been a longtime and very active member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and retired as a bookkeeper from Joyce Wholesale Lumber. Maxine enjoyed crafts including crochet, knitting and sewing. She liked to play card and dice games. She was known for her baking and cooking and hosted many family gatherings. Maxine loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern Stork; son, Monty Stork; brother, Gayle Lewis.

Janet is survived by her children, Kathryn Moore (Pat) and Debra Campbell; daughter-in-law, Jacque; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, April 9, 2026. The family will direct memorials.
