Jason William Cooper

November 7, 1974 — June 16, 2026

Jason William Cooper, 51, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on June 16, 2026.

Jason was born on November 7, 1974, and was lovingly raised by his dad, Lyle Edwin Woodard, and his mom, Vicki Lee Woodard. He spent 21 years with Asplundh Tree Company, where he worked his way to the position of General Foreman and earned his Arborist certification. He took great pride in his work, his leadership, and the relationships he built throughout his career.

On May 18, 2002, Jason married the love of his life, Heather Lee Cooper, in Omaha, Nebraska. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. One of Jason's happiest memories was learning that Heather was pregnant after the couple had faced challenges starting a family. Becoming a father was one of the greatest joys of his life, and he treasured watching his daughter, Mya, grow and achieve milestones throughout the years.

Jason had a passion for fishing, cheering on the Husker football team, playing video games, traveling, and watching boxing and MMA. He especially enjoyed spending evenings around a bonfire surrounded by friends and family. Among his favorite family traditions were the yearly trips to Michigan, where countless memories were made together.

As a young athlete, Jason was proud to be selected as the first pick for the LeMars Baseball All-Star Team, an accomplishment he carried with pride throughout his life. Whether on the baseball field, at work, or with his family, Jason believed in one simple lesson: never give up. His perseverance, determination, and strength served as an example to everyone who knew him.

Above all else, Jason was a devoted husband, father, son, uncle, and friend. He had a way of making people feel valued and accepted for who they were. His love for his family, his loyalty to his friends, and his ability to find joy in life's simple moments will be remembered always.

Jason is survived by his beloved wife, Heather Lee Cooper; his daughter, Mya Lee Cooper; his parents, Lyle Edwin Woodard and Vicki Lee Woodard; his brothers, Brian Cooper and Richard Woodard; his sister, Valerie Condon; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew, Shane Cooper.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, 2026. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, 2026. The family will direct memorials.

Jason will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery near Logan, Iowa.

Though Jason's time with us was far too short, the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew him forever.
