Jay Kennedy

Jay Kennedy, age 65, passed away at CHI Health Mercy Hospital on July 7, 2024.

He was born March 1, 1959, to the late Ira and Karen (Miller) Kennedy in Council Bluffs, IA. Jay graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1977. He married Connie Summerville on March 3, 1979 and together they had two children. He retired from the City of Council Bluffs Public Works Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Kennedy.

Jay is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chad & Joan Kennedy; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie & Chad Lorenz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rob & Marilyn Kennedy and Mark & Katie Kennedy; grandchildren, Hunter, Sawyer, Gavin, and Evan.

Celebration of his life will be at the Eagles Club at 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday, July 12, 2024. The family will direct memorials.
