John D. Gibler

John D. Gibler Sr., age 71, of Council Bluffs passed away at his home on April 1, 2015. He was born in Ogden, Utah on September 11, 1943 to the late David and Ida (Schull) Gibler. John worked for many years at Arnold Tool and Die Company and then later at Ballenger Automotive. He retired from Lewis Central Schools. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Makala Gibler; brother, David Gibler; sisters, Shirley Schroder and Ilene Matthews. John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeanine Gibler; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Jacqueline Gibler Jr., Mike and Stacie Gibler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kris and Ray Pluta, Barbara and Stan Dew; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation is Friday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Saturday 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment is in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Special Olympics or Hospice of Southwest Iowa.
