John Dean Husmann

John Dean Husmann, age 89, passed away at CHI Health Mercy Hospital January 9, 2022. He was born March 27, 1932 to Wilkie and Bertha (Yossi) Husmann in Coggon, Iowa. John was very active at the Emanual Lutheran Church and Chanticleer Theatre. John enjoyed gardening, poetry, singing, acting and being Santa for the holidays. He was very outgoing, loved by many and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Ernest, Edward, Paul, Floyd, Herb, Honorine, Arlene and Lilly.

John is survived by wife of 55 years, Jan Husmann; children, Joel (Judy Rowe) Husmann and Jeffrey Husmann; sister, Betty Karteus; grandsons, Jack and Oliver Husmann; many family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM at Emanual Lutheran Church on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Emanual Lutheran Church, 2444 N. Broadway, Council Bluffs, IA on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.

A luncheon will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Emanual Lutheran Church or the Council Bluffs Public Library.
