John Reid

John Hunter Reid, age 88, passed away peacefully at Chapters Living of Council Bluffs on January 18, 2026.

He was born July 4, 1937, to the late Hunter and Mary Jo (Woodhead) Reid in Omaha, NE. John graduated from North High in Omaha. He was a longtime auctioneer and small business owner.

John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elaine Reid; children, John Hunter Reid II (Teri), Steven Reid, and Joseph Reid; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, January 23, 2026. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, January 23, 2026. Interment will be in the Saint Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
