John Keith Skow

John "Keith" Skow (age 49) passed away unexpectedly in his sleep the morning of July 21, 2026.

Keith was born September 17, 1976 to the late John C. Skow and Karen S. (Pogge) Skow in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He graduated from Tri-Center high school in Neola Iowa with the class of 1995. He later attended Devry University in Kansas City and Iowa Western Community College inCouncil Bluffs.

Since 2016 he has passionately worked as a merchandiser for Pepsi Co. Prior to that, he has held a variety of different positions with various companies, including Team J. sales, which has always held a special place in Keith's heart and helped to build some life-long friendships. To this day, many folks still refer to him as the "boot guy."

Although Keith never married or had any children of his own, he was rich with family and treated his niece and nephews as his own. He was also an "adopted uncle" to the children of all his closest friends and colleagues. His favorite hobbies were organizing trips to the zoo or movie theater and attending sporting events. He was a die-hard Los Angeles Rams fan which stems from time spent living in California right out of high school.

In his free time Keith could either be found at the gym, or at a local neighborhood bar. It was here where he would meet up with all his friends and acquaintances and catch up on all the local gossip and do his networking. All the local high school students knew where to find him to participate in their school fundraisers. He had a knack for showing up and making sure everybody had what they needed.

Keith was preceded in death by his grandparents, Francis and Barbara Pogge and Richard and Rosemarie Skow; and his parents, John and Karen Skow.

He is survived by his brother, Brian C. (Amy) Skow of Neola; brother, Gavin F. Skow of Underwood; niece, Frances Paige Skow of St. Petersburg Florida; nephews, Holden J. Skow and Doelyn C, Skow of Neola; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, August 7, 2026. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, August 7, 2026.

A Private Family burial will take place on Saturday.
