She was an avid and accomplished bowler and was inducted into the Council Bluffs Women's Bowling Hall of Fame in 2002. She later worked for the Recorder's office at the Pottawattamie Court House for 25 years.
Judy cherished time with her family and especially loved the Peterson family tradition of playing cards, a pastime that brought everyone together. Richard and Judy enjoyed camping with their daughters, fishing, taking boat rides, and drives around Lake Manawa. Judy took great pride in supporting her granddaughter Kristyn at the Special Olympics and was very proud of her other granddaughter Brittany for graduating nursing school with honors.
