Kathleen Louise Hamilton

May 29, 1944 — May 12, 2026

Kathleen "Kathy" Hamilton, age 81, passed away on May 12, 2026. She was born on May 29, 1944, to Richard and Dorothy Potvin in Fairmont, Minnesota.

Family meant everything to Kathy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose love was shown in countless thoughtful ways. She married the love of her life, Tom, on June 17, 1967, and together they built a wonderful life and raised two sons. Kathy and Tom made a great team through the years-Tom often did the talking, while Kathy was the steady listener by his side. Whether working together seasoning cast iron cookware or simply enjoying everyday moments, they complemented each other perfectly.

Kathy cherished time spent at the lake and especially loved making memories with her family there. She also had a special place in her heart for children and education. She had a natural passion for working with students and became a beloved substitute teacher for many years within the Lewis Central school district. Young students, older students, and families alike appreciated her kindness, patience, and caring spirit. She and Tom were also involved with pottery classes, where many enjoyed connecting with them both.

Kathy will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and generosity. She never forgot a birthday or Christmas gift, especially when it came to her grandchildren. She delighted in finding practical and meaningful presents months ahead of time, making sure every loved one felt remembered and cared for.

Above all, Kathy will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to her family and all who knew her. Her quiet strength, caring heart, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Suzanne Ring.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Thomas Hamilton; sons, Scott (Vanessa) Hamilton, and Timoty (Teresa) Hamilton; 6 grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, Aaron, Caden, Kamryn, and Raina; brother-in- law, Steve Ring; and other family and friends.
