Lee Dinklage

Lee Dinklage (76), beloved husband, father, and grandpa died on December 16, 2025 after a life dedicated to family, service, and having a good laugh.

Lee was born in West Point, Neb. during the Great Blizzard of 1949 on January 23, 1949, to Harold and Gladys (Meyer) Dinklage. The youngest of four, Lee's earliest days were spent on the farm in Wisner. When most kids were still learning how to properly hold a spoon Lee was already driving a tractor. It was a lifelong love of being behind the wheel, whether it was a tractor, truck, or tank wagon. Lee graduated from Wisner High School in 1967. He served in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971 with the Headquarters & Headquarters Company of the 1st Battalion 12th Calvary Regiment (1/12 CAV), attaining the rank of sergeant.

Lee married Sharie Gravett in Carson, IA on October 27, 1972. Lee and Sharie built a house in Malvern, IA and in 1980 Lee purchased Goy Oil and Dinklage Oil was born - along with a baby boy Lucas. In 1984, a daughter, Lindy, was born. Lee thrived as a small business owner. He worked tirelessly providing tank wagon services and prided himself on being available 24/7. As an auctioneer, Lee's booming voice could be heard many a Saturday or Sunday at an estate, farm or household sale. Lee didn't just use his famous voice as an auctioneer but made an impact across the community, being recognized as the 'most recognized voice in Mills County' for his work across the Mills County Fair including derbies, pedal pulls, and the fair auction. Lee worked long hours, but always had extra time to help anyone who needed it, from plowing driveways to offering up his buildings to the community, serving as an auctioneer at numerous benefits and events, and helping his kids and grandkids with any project or task. Lee took special care to provide for his family and instilled his incomparable work ethic to both of his kids. In his later years, Lee still enjoyed helping others, a five-AM wake up and a cup of coffee with friends, and spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Sharie;his son Lucas and his wife Tonia; his daughter Lindy, and grandkids Karlee, McKayla, Lee, Houston, Samantha, Nancy, and August.

Lee will be buried at the Omaha National Ceremony.
