Lenna Fredericksen

Lenna Leora (Davis) Fredericksen, age 84 years, 2 months and 29 days, of Missouri Valley, passed away with family by her side.

Lenna was born on October 23, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to Ernest and Wilda (Stogdill) Davis. Lenna was the oldest of seven children; She grew up in Chicago and Ellington, Missouri. Lenna married Curtis "Lee" Farmer in May of 1956. The marriage would be blessed with five children Debra, Carl, Karen, Ralph, and David. Her husband Lee, passed away on Thanksgiving Day in 1961. Lenna marred Harry Fredericksen on August 30, 1963. They moved to Omaha, NE for a short period of time, then moved to Plattsmouth, NE. In 1972, they moved to Malvern, IA. The family moved numerous times before settling in rural Thurman, IA.

Lenna held a variety of jobs over the years. She was a waitress, cook for 2 different schools, a clerk at a grocery store, but the job she loved the most was being a Mother and Grandma, those moments brought her the most joy. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, sewing, cooking, and making cakes for the family get togethers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Elise, Paul and Larry; her husbands, Lee and Harry; grandchildren, Chad Alexander and Carson Farmer.

Lenna is survived by her children, Debra (Roger) Alexander of Griswold, Carl and (Marv) Farmer of Missouri Valley, Karen Farmer and Dale of Thurman, IA, Ralph (Barb) Farmer of Malvern, IA, David (JoAnn) Farmer of Glenwood, IA; sisters, Sandy (Bill) Mearna of IN, Patti Mineer of Florida; and her brother, Ron Davis of Missouri; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; numerous close friends; nieces; and nephews.

The family suggests Memorials be directed to Hillcrest Hospice.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
