Leonard Edwin Wright

Leonard E. Wright, age 84, passed away peacefully at his home on October 18, 2026.

He was born June 26, 1942, to the late George and Elizabeth (Seeger) Wright in Council Bluffs, IA. Leonard graduated from Fremont Mills High School with the class of 1961. He earned an Associate's Degree from Iowa Western and a Bachelor's Degree from Buena Vista. Leonard was a member of the Council Bluffs Optimist Club for over 50 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rosalie Wright.

Leonard is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Joyce Wright; children, Julia Lynn Moats (Jeff), and Linda Perkins; brother, Alan Wright (Janaan); sister, Carolyn Herkstroeter; grandchildren, Dustin Perkins (Zacheli), Andrew Moats (Alexa), Caleb Moats (Kennedi), Danna Tschauner (Kevin), Dylan Perkins (Ashley), and Bailey Moats; great grandchildren, Everly Tschauner, Marilyn Tschauner, and Theodore "Teddy" Moats; a host of other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, October 24, 2026. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Council Bluffs Optimist Foundation.
