Lloyd A. Larson, age 78, passed away on July 20, 2025.
He was born on December 24, 1946, to the late Olliver and Myrtle (Nelson) Larson in Logan, IA.
Lloyd proudly served his country in the United States Navy, especially joining at 17 years old. He loved telling stories about his time stationed in Japan, while in the Navy. Lloyd worked on the Council Bluffs portion of Interstate 80 when it was being built. He loved working with his hands and learning new skills. Lloyd was an upholsterer for Charles Schneider Furniture and was a cabinet maker for a short time and also helped with the remodeling for Richman Gordman Stores. In midlife, Lloyd went back to school and earned a degree in Graphic Arts from Iowa Western. He then worked as a press operator for Loess Hills Area Agency 13 and then finally retired as an account associate from Xerox. Lloyd enjoyed pheasant hunting, fishing and he loved spending time with his only grandchild, Tyler, which was his pride and joy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Don Larson; and sister, Mary Leach.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Larson; children, Rhonda (David) Larson and Sheri (Mike) Green; grandson, Tyler Amato; siblings, Olliver Larson, John Bogdan, Mark Bogdan, Joe Bogdan, and Gloria Larson; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Interment is in the Neola Township Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
