Luella Marie Gunzenhauser

Luella Marie Gunzenhauser, age 92, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away on February 22, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 4,1933 in South Dakota to Nels and Bernice (Bader) Gustafson. She graduated from Tech High School in Omaha, Nebraska. Luella married Dean Gunzenhauser on December 11, 1953. She enjoyed pickleball, scrabble, cribbage and camping.

She was preceded in death in 2003 by her husband, Dean; son-in-law, Roger Smith; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Luella will be dearly missed by her children, Tom and wife Cheryl Gunzenhauser, Dianna Smith, Jeanette Allee, Brian and wife Linda Gunzenhauser, Carl and wife Mandy Gunzenhauser and Timothy and wife Katie Gunzenhauser; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Memorial service for Luella will be 2:00pm Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Timothy Lutheran Church, 3112 W. Broadway in Council Bluffs, Iowa with a Visitation with the family one hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will be at a later date with her husband at Omaha National Cemetery.
