Marilyn Catherine Henkel

Marilyn Henkel, age 84, passed away on July 22, 2022.

She was born January 20, 1938, to the late Theodore and Clara (Hein) Foxhoven on a farm near Panama, Iowa.

Marilyn was always working to support her family. She babysat, worked at Dairy Queen, and cleaned houses while going to school to earn her CNA. She was a CNA at the Denison Care Center until she retired. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and baking. Marilyn also enjoyed polka music on the radio and television. Her most recent pastime was watching game shows and spending time with her daughter and granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Rau, Leo Foxhoven, and Gerald Foxhoven.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Debra Malterer; granddaughter, JaeLynn Malterer; son-in-law, Robert Malterer; sisters-in-law, Donna Foxhoven and Becky Henkel; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM with a rosary recitation service at 5:30 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM at Saint Peter's Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Interment will be later that afternoon in the Saint Joseph Cemetery in Earling, Iowa. The family will direct memorials.
