Max McDaniel

Max McDaniel, age 66, a beloved husband, father, grandfather (Poppy), brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Although cancer took his strength, it could never take away the love, laughter, and memories he gave to the people around him.

Max was a man who loved his family deeply and took great pride in the people he loved. His children and grandchildren were his world, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with them. His grandkids held an extremely special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment, every laugh, and every memory made with them.

Max shared 42 years of life and love with his wife, Kaylene, and they were married for 39 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, respect, family, laughter, hard work, and memories. Their years together were a testament to commitment and bond they shared.

Max had a lifelong passion for cars. He spent much of his life selling cars. He especially enjoyed buying, working on, and restoring his beloved cars. He took pride in bringing old cars back to life and could spend hours talking about cars and memories that came with them.

When he wasn’t working on cars, Max enjoyed listening to music, especially country, spending time with the people he loved, and enjoying the simple moments of life. He had a personality and sense of humor that made him unforgettable, and he leaves behind countless stories and memories that will continue to make his family and friends smile for years to come.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his extended family, friends and loved ones whose lives he touched.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian McDaniel; sister, Patricia Roe.

Max is survived by his wife, Kaylene; daughters, Kristen (Matthew Nielsen) McDaniel, Kara (Brent) Frizzell; daughter- in-law, Katie McDaniel; grandchildren, Peyton, Bailey, Sullivan, Keith, Briella, Bentley, and Isabella; brothers, Steve (Kandy) McDaniel, Oscar McDaniel, Frank McDaniel and Bill McDaniel; and a host of other family and friends.Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday August 14, 2026. Final resting place at Crescent, IA Cemetery.The family will direct memorials.
