Merle John Bryen

Merle J. Bryen, age 71, passed away January 1, 2017 at CHI Creighton.

He was born in Council Bluffs on October 3, 1945 and worked for many years as a welder at Giant Manufacturing.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ida Travis; sisters, Janet and Sandra; brothers, Tim and Charles; great grandson, Daric.

Merle is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen Bryen; children, Allen Bryen (Robin), Christeena Bryen, Aaron Bryen (Jeremy Grantham), Brandon Bryen (Pam); brother, Bud Bryen (Linda); 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation is 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Thursday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 1:00p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment is in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
