Michael McKee

Michael A. McKee, age 65, life-long resident of Council Bluffs, passed away May 24, 2025. Mike was born October 10, 1959 to Charles and Marjorie (Correll) McKee. He graduated from St. Albert High School in 1977 and Iowa Western Community College in 1985 with a degree in Civil Engineering Technology. Mike worked for Pottawattamie County Secondary Roads for 27 years and for Snyder and Associates for 3 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert McKee. Mike is survived by his wife of 39 years, Diane, children Kyle McKee (Katy Clark), Sarah (Clinton) McKee- Hourigan and their daughter Adeline; sister Betty McKee (Richard Buckmaster) brothers-in-law Roger and Doug Farris, sister-in-law Jude Farris, nephew and niece Austin Chew and Alexandria Chew and a great group of loyal and long-term friends.

He adored Kyle and Katy's four-legged friend, Tulip and his 1st grandchild Adeline born in March 2024. He was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Grateful Dead and spent many years revering both. He enjoyed playing guitar, feeding his backyard birds, trying to grow the best vine-ripened tomato each year and getting to eat it before the deer beat him to it.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services and luncheon to follow memorial service directly after in the Hoy-Kilnoski Community Room.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Horses Help SW, Inc. Equine Assisted Therapy, Pottawattamie County Conservation or Midlands Humane Society.
