Nancy Lou (Priest) Fienhold, age 86, passed away on July 4, 2026 at her home.
Nancy was born September 29, 1939 in Farragut, Iowa to the late Lewis and Unabelle (Ward) Priest. After the death of her mother in 1951, Nancy was raised by her grandmother, the late Esla Ward. She was a 1957 graduate of Thomas Jefferson high school in Council Bluffs. Nancy married Quincey Smith in 1957. Together they had two sons and two daughters. Later, Nancy was briefly married to Richard "Dick" Lindell of Albert Lea, MN and then to Charles "Chuck" Fienhold of Council Bluffs.
Nancy was a devoted Christian and read her bible or devotions daily. She was fondly remembered for taking her grandchildren on "long" drives while listening and singing to Christian music on the radio. Nancy retired from working at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lewis "Butch" Priest; sister, Teri Bassett and stepbrother, Gary Priest.
Nancy is survived by two daughters, Sandra Sharp and Anne (Martin) Brooks of Council Bluffs; two sons, Dan (Vicky) Smith of Council Bluffs and Randy Smith of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Charlie, Nancy, Charity, Jennifer, Jamie, Adam (Shara), Lynsi, Jillian (Aaren), and Joshua; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, Patrick Priest of Shenandoah, IA and Dennis Priest of Des Moines, IA; cousins, nieces and nephews.
Nancy will be laid to rest next to her mother, Unabelle and her grandmother, Esla Ward in Memorial Park Cemetery in Council Bluffs.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, July 10, 2026. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, July 10, 2026. Nancy will be laid to rest next to her mother, Unabelle and her grandmother, Esla Ward in Memorial Park Cemetery in Council Bluffs. The family will direct memorials.
