Nancy Gillespie

Nancy Lou Gillespie, age 82, passed away peacefully at Primrose Assisted Living November 23, 2025.

She was born March 16, 1943, to the late Frank and Helen (Swain) Kozak in Beatrice, NE. Nancy graduated from Virginia Nebraska with the class of 1960 and then earned a bachelor of science degree in home economics from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She retired from Omaha Public Schools and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dan Kozak; sister, Lois Crook.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 61 years, George Gillespie; nieces, Jennifer Darnell, Angie Grimm, Ann Kozak, Terry Kozak, Stacy Hughes, Robyn Longnecker, and Amy Woznick.

Memorial service will be at Salem United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025. Visitation will be held 10:00 - 11:00 a.m also at the church on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025. Inurnment will take place later at the Omaha National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Salem United Methodist Church or Iowa PBS.
