Norma Morrison

January 30, 1930 — December 29, 2023

Norma LaVonne Morrison was born on January 30, 1930, near Crescent, Iowa to Bert and Nora (Wright) Knapp. She was one of four children: Grace, Norma, Vera and Bert, Jr. Norma graduated from Missouri Valley High School and went on to receive her teaching degree. She taught at Hazel Dell No. 3 and was a substitute teacher. She finished her working career at Dilts Trucking in the office. Norma married Eddie Morrison on November 23, 1949, and to this union three children were born: Linda, Rick and Amy. They were married for sixty-seven years until Ed passed away on November 28, 2016.

Norma was a homemaker, devoting her time to raising three children, and was an excellent cook and baker. She and Ed raised a huge garden, and did a great deal of canning for her family. She grew many flowers to beautify their yard, especially roses. Norma had a nourishing spirit, taking care of her blind mother. She was very involved in the Crescent community serving as City Clerk and was a member of the Royal Neighbors and various other groups. She was also a member of the Community of Christ Church where she was a Skylarks Leader. Above all else, Norma cherished her time with her family and looked forward to their many visits and family get-togethers. Her candy dish never ran empty, and her hugs never ran out.

Norma passed away on December 29, 2023, surrounded by her family at her home in Crescent, Iowa at the age of 93 years, 10 months and 29 days.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; and siblings, Grace McCoy, Vera Morrison and Bert Knapp, Jr.
